Although there are no tests for her school, she had sudden practice paper aka test with no weighted assessment. When she told me she scored 40.5 over 50 for Science, I was calm. I was more worried for the gaps than marks. As for English, she got 48 over 50. No praises this year though, even 49.5 was deemed as not good by Ms Kaur. My sensible lil C commented that this year is a higher level than last so expectations also higher..😅
2nd: Went for scalp treatment and for the first time my scalp is dry and flaky. Glad that Gin is very detailed when she scanned my scalp and Jiaqi was my assigned therapist. Love her strength..
5th: For the first time she was so frustrated after school. On a Friday! That's because she had homework for three subjects. Haiz...
7th: First lesson at A+cer Math. She was elated when she had Himalayan salt candy and Wang Wang. One mum bought peanut pancakes and thankfully she didn't eat. Hopefully she can continue enjoy the lessons.
As for me, I experienced dizziness and the dull ache connects from right throat side to scalp. I knew it must be heatiness. Lavender and copaiba helped. The lime cooling water helped too. 🙏
It's either haze or something in the air, as usual, that triggered lil C's sneezing fits in school. On days like that, I gave her zyrtec, oiled T3, ER and lavender.
Swimsafer finally ended on 11th and the assessment went well. And yes she passed. She said she cannot believe she can swim without the board during the program. Peer pressure really helps. Although the program did not teach them breaststroke as indicated in the form, she indeed had fun.
The school holidays wheezed by before knowing. We asked mum along to HDL on Sunday since it's the Eve of schools hols. The service was impeccable.
As usual, lil C is always hungry during school hols. Haha.. On Monday evening, we went back to GT for their 30th anniversary video shoot. Lil C was initially nervous but it was done in one take. She reminisced the old days and there are roosters now in the school. We even went to their new school at Sembawang to visit Teacher Kai Tee. She even remembered lil C and even her name.
We ate at her favourite restaurants, had ice cream and had her eyesight checked after two years. She was so excited over her new glasses. Both of us had same taste..Chose the same one. Her astigmatism did not improve, also did not deteriorate. However, her left eye is a little blurish when she read the alphabets and the optometrist had to add a lense to correct it. As he didn't want her to rely too much on left eye and worsen it, he preferred to correct it. And so, her left eye had a minus 0.25 reading.
During this March break, she had quite a tad much homework as compared to previous years. She even had to draw still life and paint it using warm and cool blue for Art. We tried to do some revision and I also taught her Fractions mixed numbers conversation and multiplication.
As what she mentioned that Mr F had briefly said about Oral and Compo, it was indeed that there will be these two components for SA1. It's very rushed with insufficient practice as compared to last year. Thankfully I bought the Oral assessment books online during last Dec. Just have to practise as much as we can. 🙏🙌
Lil C is still as helpful in class. She helped her classmates when they had nosebleed. Gave tissue papers immediately.
After 5 relief teachers, she was immensely elated when Mdm Lau came back. She promised there will be no changes till end of year anymore. 🙏
25th: Swimming lesson with new coach Rachael finally started, abeilt the slight drizzle. Lil C likes her.. hope all will continue to be good.
Puberty definitely sets in, unexpectedly early. She is having growth spurt, constantly hungry coupled with larger sweat glands. My lil girl is about to embark on her next journey, physical changes especially. As for me, I need to be around for her to help her to prepare mentally and resolve issues. Something that my mum did not do.
Oh how I miss the sweet smelling lil baby days...
The next month challenges - prepare for SA1, oral and keeping sane. 💪
