Tupperware - lost and found!

Fell in love with Tupperware during my first job. That was like 16 years ago!

Have been in search but there are no friends who sell them. I found it last Thursday at a roadshow at Tanjong Pagar MRT. Can imagine my excitement! :p

The pretty colours and useful products captivate me. Anyone who is interested, let me know!

Great workout ~~

Exercise really makes one feel good!

Been to Cardio Latino group class on 18 Dec at Amore Woodlands Civic Centre. After an hour of fast paced whole body workout, I felt more refreshed. But I was super duper tired that night and the day after. I am not sure if it is due to my lower blood pressure or my body has just started getting used to strenuous exercise...

One thing I realised.. I can sleep better! Hopefully I have more time to attend more classes and to have the persistence for regular exercise ~~ for better living, to create more endorphins, be happier and reduce stress... (",)

Amazing found!

Had never explore Esplanade MRT before... Since I was working in Orchard and staying in Woodlands, the N-S line has always been the most used and with the most familiarity..

Now that I am working in an area near to Marina Bay, Suntec, Marina Square etc etc, I have a chance to explore the Circle line..

We had a bowling session at Marina Square and dinner at Esplanade Mall last Friday. Realised that there are actually several exits at Esplanade MRT.. I could get to the Citylink and Marina Square.

Today I had to meet my ex-colleagues for lunch at Raffles City. I happened to see the signboard showing an exit at Esplanade MRT. It only takes me less than 10 mins to reach!

You could even get to Suntec City... how wonderful! Saves lotsa time!

Baby fair @Takashimaya

For the past years, I always accompany my colleagues to the annual baby fair held at Takashimaya. I love looking at the cute baby stuff...

This year, I went there and bought some essential baby stuff. Really good buys! Prices are much cheaper and there are many freebies..

I met a nice promoter yesterday who share with me her experience on the baby sling carrier, green bean husk beanie pillow and cot. I learn a lot...  For a first time mummy, there are lots to learn... :)

Looking forward to GSS and we can get the bigger items.... ^o^

Logcake for 2010...

This year, we had a pre-Xmas celebration at sis's bf place. We had bbq and teppanyaki by the pool...  Fun and relaxing....

I bought a log cake from Four Leaves. The description caught by attention - " Traditional Christmas Log Cake made with Hazelnut Nougat cream, generous portion of crunchy hazelnut flakes and soft chocolate sponge."

As usual logcakes are exceptionally sweet.... but we find it nice as it has some crunchy flakes in it. I like the sweet decoration too.... : )

Foodie!!

On Monday, my colleagues and I went to "Grandma's restaurant" at Paragon for lunch. We wanted to give one of the colleagues a treat for her birthday. I read many good reviews from hungrygowhere and we decided to give it a try.

I ordered the much raved nasi lemak set. It comes with curry chicken. The ikan billis is really good. There is not much coconut milk taste in the rice which I like. But the curry chicken has strong coconut milk taste. Maybe this is peranakan style of nasi lemak. I took a picture as the presentation is soooo nice....

Yesterday, hubby came back from Jakarta and bought Krispy Kreme. They have the doughnuts for Christmas... So pretty...

Isn't this cute?
This morning I had breakfast from Old Chang Kee. I bought fried beehoon with fish fillet and sotong balls. They do not have any vegetables. I was surprised that it is not oily at all. Maybe that is the reason that some of the beehoon "sticks" together. But at least it is healthier... Keke!

That's the end of my foodie introduction for the week....  ^o^

Strawberry Shortcake and Friends

Every year, around November, Fraser Centrepoint Malls will give away free umbrellas and calendars when you purchase a certain minimum amount in their malls. There will be a theme each year. Last year it was Sesame Street; Mr. Men and Little Misses series in 2008 and Disney princesses in 2007.

I was very busy preparing for our wedding in 2008 and missed the Mr. Men and Little Misses series. I did not really notice their theme in 2007 until mum in law showed me the Disney princesses umbrellas. She got them after buying clothes for CNY. It was the most beautiful umbrella with all the princesses - Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel... Keke!

This morning, hubby showed the papers to me... Full page on what to look out for this year in the malls.

Cuties!!!

It is one of my favourite characters - Strawberry Shortcake! I did not know that her friends are blueberry muffin, plum pudding and lemon meringue! All the desserts... : p

I am going to get the calendar and umbrella... Good start to my day..... Happy Friday!

Yummy Gindaco Takoyaki

Today's lunch menu:

Takoyaki from Gindaco, ION
Mixed berries yogurt from Yogurt Place, Takashimaya basement

Had wanted to try the takoyaki from ION for a while. My colleague bought them some time ago but I was vegetarian that day and could not try.

Teri Tama ~ egg mayo on top

I bought Teri Tama. I chose the set of 4 as they were really huge. You can choose the set of 6 too. Set of 4 cost $3.60.

Here's what I feel about it.... Rich flavour, big octopus... good combi with the egg mayo... and very filling!

I shall try the original flavour the next time. :)

Macaroons!!

I remembered the first time I tried macaroons.. i don't really like it. Too sweet... Besides, it was a wedding favour and I felt it is a pity that after I ate it, there is nothing left for memories of the wedding. Hee!

Everytime I see them at Bakerzin, I wanted to buy but has never done so. Last night, hubby came back from Indonesia and bought these colourful macaroons. I love the bright colours! Surprisingly they are not so sweet and the crust was nicely done. Perfect! Thanks hubby...

I wonder if the macaroons at Bakerzin, Singapore will be as nice...

Good start to my Tuesday morning! Way to go!! :p

Review: Fancl

Two months ago, I mentioned that I have just changed skincare regime and makeup to simple, pharmacy brands. Hopefully it will work...

But again.. disappointing results. Maybe also due to stress and moving house, I started to have more outbreaks. Really bad skin this year. So upseting...

About a month ago, I came across Fancl website. Not sure why. I used its cleansing oil 4 years ago and did not like it at all. This time, after reading that they have revamped its formula and is able to remove the keratin plugs (dead skin) inside the skin in a gentler way, I decided to give it a try. Was really amazed after a week, the breakouts subsided. But I was still skeptical initially. I monitored and slowly I switched all the skincare and makeup to Fancl.

They have a free skincare check and consultation at every counter. I then realised that the red lines on my cheeks are known as "broken capillaries" and is genetic. My sister has these too. As she is fairer, it is move obvious. Thus, people with these has sensitive skin. Should not use harsh products. Otherwise the area with these red lines are prone to breakouts.

Fancl believes in gentle and free of preservatives skincare and makeup. The founder's wife has problems with skincare and it prompted the husband to create preservative free products many years ago. How touching! ;p

For those with problems with skincare regime and products, I would recommend Fancl. At least we can be sure that preservative-free products will not harm the skin.

Cheers!!

New found love - Uriage, Maybelline, Clinelle

Have been in search for the right skincare and makeup since last October... Tried counter brands like Laneige, Skinfood, SKII, H20+, Ettusais and Lancome but my skin seems to hate all these!

I was using Vichy for 1.5 years and stopped in last October as I realised they have pore clogging ingredients in their products. Most importantly, some of their products have alcohol denat. This is denatured form of alcohol which can be used in skincare. However, it will dry up your skin! No wonder my beautician always commented that my skin is dry on the outside but oily in the inside.

As for makeup powder, I was using Averine, which is supposed to be skincare makeup. It was alright, non-comedogenic...but I find it oily and the powder will "streak" on my face... Used that for 3 years...

After the family trip to Bintan, I had some breakouts on the T zone. I guess it must be due to the water there... Haiz! But at the same time, I think that it might be due to the skincare products too.

On Tuesday, I went to Watsons at Taka. Decided that I should go back to simple products found in pharmacies. Although Vichy was not suitable, at least I did not have breakouts then... I was looking at a brand, Uriage. I read about this brand in magazines. It has the best thermal water spray... soothing for sensitive skin. The promoter approached me. She was about in her forties. She analysed and agree that I have combination skin. The funny part is that she said I have good skin. I told her it cannot be as I have some post acne marks.... According to her, we should be glad that we have oily instead of dry skin as we will not have wrinkles. As long as we keep our skin clean...cleanse it properly, use the right products, we can reduce acne, blackheads..... Sounds logical!

She helped to design a regime for me to try for a week.... She even gave me her contact number and ask me to go back to take a look next week. After trying for 3 days, I am really impressed on how the proper cleansing, right products for my oily T zone, dry and sensitive cheeks and with thermal water can really remove the acne marks and my skin looks more radiant now. T zone is not so oily anymore.....

Am keeping my fingers crossed..... is still early to tell.... hopefully my skin really loves Uriage! :)

As for makeup, I am using Maybelline water based gel foundation and Clinelle compact powder. Oil free and no pore clogging ingredients. Cheap, light and simple!

After going one big round, I realised that a product can be very good, but still depends on your skin.... Once you found the right skincare regime, please stick to it. Water based and oil free foundation is still the best..... Cheers! ^o^

Yum Yum!!!

Keke! :p

Northpoint basement.

Yum Yum :)

Subway +

Yesterday, hubby and I wanted to have light dinner and fruits. We have too much fruits in the fridge, after mum-in-law prayed on 初一.

We planned to share the foot long Subway Melt sandwich and different types of fruits. But while waiting for hubby to pick me at Northpoint, I came across a stall selling Taiwanese food. The food range is very similar to Taiwan. I think the lady boss is Taiwanese as she has their accent. Keke!

I bought the 蚵仔大腸麵線.... Yummy!! Next time we shall try the盧肉飯..... :p
We had some fruits after dinner..... Still went ahead with our plan! ^o^

Olive butter & Cocoa butter .....

Recently found out about Palmer's olive butter and cocoa butter in John Little. Had tried various types of hand cream, but most are not good. Hands and cuticles still feel dry....

I bought the cocoa butter formula hand cream and lip balm and also olive butter body lotion. Smells great! Penetrates into skin fast too, will not leave a sticky or oily feeling. I have been using for a few days.... Not bad. Price is reasonable too.... :p

For those who want a hand cream with spf and vitamin E, should give Palmer's a try...... Also, for the body lotion, the olive butter range has certified organic extra virgin olive oil in it! Hmmm....

Rebonding @ Yess

Wow .... After 10 months, I finally did my rebonding last Sunday .... I been enduring for the past 3 months or so as my hair is very long and thick. But I was glad that it was not that unsightly as I have been using rebonding shampoo dutifully. Haha!

Initially I was planning to go to Kimage. My hairstylist told me in December that there will be a promotion for rebonding in April and it will cost $168 nett for all hair lengths! This is really cheap as it usually cost about $270 for rebonding, cut and treatment .... Now the price includes cut and treatment too .... Unbelievable ......

But something changed my decision last Thursday. I was having lunch with my colleagues at Cineleisure and it started to rain heavily. We had no umbrellas and hence could not walk back to the office. We then decided to shop around in hope that the rain will stop soon.... But it got heavier. Then one of my colleagues, Shermane said that she wanted to do rebonding as she had permed her hair recently for her ROM. She found it too unmanageable now .... So I said it was such a coincidence as I planned to go to Kimage on Sunday since the promotion will start .... On hearing that, she said that she saw those forums that there is a good salon at Cineleisure 3rd floor -- "Yess". Most of the girls who have done rebonding by the hairstylist, Vincent praised his good skills and good service. Hmmm ..... sounds good. We decided to go up to the 3rd floor to check the price .... It was $180 nett before GST ..... Not too bad ....

For the next few days, I was contemplating if I should got to Yess isntead of Kimage .... Actually I find it hard to find a good hairstylist that can cut my hair well .... Most of them complain that it is too thick .... Sobz....

Nevertheless I decided to give it a try .... take the risk for once .... heeheee ..... So I made the appointment at 12pm Sunday .... To my surprise, Vincent is not like those "girl girl" type .... He is just like a "normal" man .... Haa! Friendly and professional. He was very busy and hence his assistant, May helped him ..... May will check with Vincent and he would mix those solutions himself ... Although he was busy running here and there, he would still come over often to check on my hair. Oh yah, they recommended me to do a scalp treatment that was so refreshing .... There is a promotion of a 2-in-1 scalp and rebonding treatment that cost $95. It is really worth the money .....

I like my new haircut now .... heehee ...... Vincent did a great job. I just got to let him know that I wanted to have my hair just below shoulder and have some fringe. He then cut without asking lots of questions ..... He is the first hairstylist that said that rebonded hair can be just below shoulder too. Usually hairstylists will say that it can't be too short as it will curl up soon ...

I highly recommend this salon ..... Look for Vincent Diong .... he is the senior creative director! Wow !!! .... I only realised that when he gave me his namecard ........

Overall it was a good experience and I feel so much lighter now ..... without my long and thick mane!!

Now I am looking forward to finish work earlier and go back home to wash my hair today. I could not wash it for 48 hours .... Aiyo so hard for me ..... heehee
